Elite Politics Panel in the 2024 Election Series

Please join us on Wednesday September 25 from 3-4:30pm Eastern for the third installment in our virtual talk series on the 2024 U.S. election. focused on Elite Politics. As the 2024 election heats up, cadres of political professionals and well-resourced organizations and individuals are mobilizing behind the scenes to influence not only the outcomes of the election in November, but the political agendas that will follow. Panelists:

  • Sarah Bryner, Director of Research and Strategy at OpenSecrets.org. Dr. Bryner is an expert on money in politics, lobbying, and political research methods.

  • James Jones, Associate Professor of Africana Studies and Sociology at Rutgers University. Dr. Jones' new book The Last Plantation: Racism and Resistance in the Halls of Congress examines race, power, and inequality in the Congressional workplace.

  • Wendy Li, Postdoctoral Fellow at the SNF Agora Institute at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Li's research examines revolving door lobbying, corporate politics, and political influence in regulatory agencies.
